Summary of Minimum Requirements:

  1. Research Activities
    • At least two publications in a Scopus database indexed journal with at least one primary authorship (issued or typically documented with the allocated DOI) and two presentations of research results at conferences (documented by the conference programme, certificate, proceedings)
  2. International Research Collaboration, Involvement in International Research Teams/Projects, Research Visits
    • A month internship abroad, or participation in an international research project with result publication or presentation abroad, or other direct participation in international collaboration, such as active involvement of foreign researchers in the student tuition in the position of dissertation thesis consultant, active participation of the students in seminar teaching and other activities of the foreign site (university, research institute), where this other form of collaboration must be documented by a written statement of the foreign researcher (Czech Republic and Slovakia are not considered outland)
  3. Other Study-Related Liabilities
    • A teaching contribution, or, especially in the case of the combined course students, a lecture on a theme related to the dissertation thesis topic
  1. Requirements for Research Activities
    Liabilities of doctoral students include presentations of interim or final results of their research through publications in conference proceedings and in scientific journals. This liability follows from the provisions of Act no. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions, which provides in its Section 47 (4) that “A dissertation thesis must include original and published research results or results accepted for publication”. Publication activity is included in the Individual Study Plan (ISP) and as such is included in the study-related liabilities. The boards of doctoral study programmes at the Faculty of Business and Economics require publication of at least two contributions that must be published in scientific journals indexed in Scopus database. The doctoral student must be the primary author of at least one of them. Evaluation of publication activity also includes other professional and research publications and conference papers (at least two more contributions).
  1. Internship Requirements
    The liabilities of doctoral students include at least one monthly internship at a foreign university or a research institute whose professional orientation corresponds to the dissertation thesis topic, or participation in an international research project with results published or presented abroad, or another form of the student´s direct participation in international cooperation.
  2. Other Study-Related Liabilities
    Another task each doctoral student must complete is a teaching contribution, especially in the form of teaching at practice lessons and seminars, or (especially in the case of students of the combined course) a selected lecture on a theme related to the dissertation thesis topic.
